about

Before the battle commences, Arjuna has a nervous breakdown and confides to Lord Krishna, who is his charioteer, that he cannot go to war against his Grandsire Bheeshma, his gurus Drona and Kripa, and his cousins the Kauravas. Lord Krishna then gives a philosophical discourse that today has become a separate book on its own and is considered a holy scripture - The Bhagavad Gita. Lord Krishna explained the impermanence of life to Arjuna, and the importance of doing one's duty and of sticking to the right path and not expect any rewards for doing one's Dharma. He then reveals his Visvarupa, the Divine form of Mahavishnu and encourages Arjuna to do his duty as a kshatriya and give his maximum effort in the war. Arjuna who is now free of any doubt picks up his arms.
